Dizziness is a symptom—not one single problem

Why Do I Feel Dizzy?

Your balance depends on your eyes, inner ears, brain, nerves, muscles, and neck all working together. Trouble in any one of these areas can make you feel off-balance, lightheaded, unsteady, or as if the room is spinning.

A stiff, injured, or poorly moving neck can send confusing signals to the brain about where your head is in space. This is often called neck-related dizziness. It may happen with neck pain, headaches, poor posture, arthritis, or after a whiplash injury.

Problems We Look For

  • Spinning when rolling over or getting out of bed
  • Feeling off-balance while walking
  • Dizziness that begins with neck movement
  • Neck pain, stiffness, or headaches with dizziness
  • Symptoms after a fall, concussion, or car crash
  • Weak balance, poor coordination, or fear of falling

Call 911 for sudden dizziness with facial drooping, trouble speaking, one-sided weakness, a severe new headache, fainting, chest pain, or loss of vision.

First, We Find Out What Kind of Dizziness You Have

We listen to when it happens, what movements trigger it, and what other symptoms come with it. Then we check your balance, eye movements, posture, neck movement, nerves, and coordination. When needed, we recommend imaging or refer you for inner-ear, heart, or neurological testing.

Care built around the cause

How We Help Vertigo & Balance Problems

Corrective Chiropractic Care

If your neck is sending poor balance signals, gentle care may help restore healthier movement and reduce irritation. Your adjustments are based on your exam and X-rays—not guesswork.

Customized Physical Therapy & Home Care

We choose simple exercises to improve balance, eye-and-head control, neck movement, strength, and confidence. Your in-office therapy and home program are made for your exact findings and changed as you improve.

Positional Vertigo Guidance

Some spinning is caused by tiny particles moving into the wrong part of the inner ear. When your symptoms fit this pattern, positional testing and a simple head-and-body maneuver may help—or we will refer you to the right provider.

Clear Referral When Needed

Not every dizzy spell comes from the neck. If your exam points to an inner-ear problem, medication reaction, heart issue, or neurological concern, we will explain it clearly and help you take the right next step.

What Research Shows

A review of clinical trials found that hands-on care for the neck may reduce dizziness when the neck is part of the problem.

A clinical guideline also recommends a repositioning maneuver for the common inner-ear problem known as BPPV.

Common Questions

Can my neck make me dizzy even if it does not hurt?

It can. The joints and muscles of your neck help your brain know where your head is. Poor signals from the neck can make you feel unsteady without strong neck pain.

Is all vertigo an inner-ear problem?

No. Inner-ear problems are common, but dizziness can also come from the neck, medication, blood pressure, the heart, the brain, or several problems at once.

Will you know when I need another provider?

That is part of the exam. If your symptoms do not fit the kind of problem we treat, we will tell you and help guide the next step.

Dizziness may also occur with headaches and migraines, neck pain, or after a car accident.
