You do not have to “just live with it”

Why Does Pregnancy Hurt So Much?

As your baby grows, your center of balance moves forward. Your low back works harder, your pelvis carries more pressure, and your muscles and joints must adjust every week.

These changes can cause low-back pain, hip pain, pelvic pain, sciatica, rib pain, headaches, poor sleep, and difficulty walking, sitting, or rolling over in bed.

Common Reasons Moms Visit Us

  • Low-back, hip, or pelvic pain
  • Sciatic pain into the buttock or leg
  • Rib, upper-back, or neck pain
  • Pain while walking, standing, or rolling in bed
  • Posture changes and muscle tightness
  • Preparing the body for birth and postpartum recovery

Contact your maternity provider right away for bleeding, leaking fluid, regular painful contractions, fever, severe abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe headache, vision changes, or decreased fetal movement.

Gentle Care Made for Your Changing Body

We check how you stand, walk, bend, breathe, and move. We look at the low back, pelvis, hips, ribs, muscle tension, and the areas that hurt. We also listen for signs that your body feels stuck in stress mode—such as poor sleep, constant tension, or trouble relaxing. Supportive cushions and comfortable positions keep the exam and care pregnancy-friendly.

Pregnancy is not only a structural change—it is a neurological one. The way your nervous system handles stress helps shape the environment in which your baby develops. Our focus is to help your system stay calmer and more adaptable, supporting the rest, growth, and recovery a healthy pregnancy demands—and a healthier foundation for your baby’s development.

Pregnancy care goes beyond back pain

Your Nervous System Is Adapting Too

Your nervous system controls how your body handles stress, movement, sleep, digestion, and recovery. During pregnancy it is working for both protection and growth. When your body stays tense and uncomfortable, it can feel like the stress switch never turns off.

Our goal is to improve communication between the brain and body, reduce unnecessary physical stress, and help you shift more easily from fight-or-flight into the calmer state where you can rest, digest, and recover.

A Calmer Mom Creates a Better Environment

Mom and baby share the same changing environment. Your breathing, movement, sleep, and stress response all matter. Helping your body feel safer and more balanced supports your comfort now—and helps you enter birth and postpartum with more strength and confidence.

This is root-cause care: we look beyond the sore spot and ask what is keeping your whole system from adapting well.

Comfort, movement, and nervous-system support

How We Help During Pregnancy

Gentle Chiropractic Care

Pregnancy-safe adjustments help the spine and pelvis move better. Care is gentle, comfortable, and changed as your body and belly grow.

Webster Technique: Pelvic & Nervous-System Balance

We specialize in the Webster Technique—a specific chiropractic analysis and gentle adjustment approach that restores better motion and balance through the sacrum and pelvis. By easing uneven muscle and ligament tension around the pelvis, including the ligaments that support the uterus, we help create a more comfortable and balanced environment as your baby grows. Webster care does not turn the baby and does not replace your OB or midwife.

Customized Physical Therapy & Home Care

Your exercises are picked for your body, trimester, pain, and exam findings. We may work on gentle strength, hip movement, posture, breathing, balance, and easier ways to sit, sleep, lift, and move. Your home program also gives you simple ways to calm tension and help your body reset between visits.

Postpartum Recovery

After delivery, we can help you rebuild movement and strength as your body heals. Your plan can change for feeding positions, lifting your baby, sleep loss, and the physical demands of new motherhood.

What Research Shows

A review in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found encouraging evidence for several drug-free options used for pregnancy-related low-back and pelvic pain, including chiropractic care, exercise, education, and physical therapy.

Common Questions

Is chiropractic care gentle during pregnancy?

Yes. We use comfortable positions, supportive cushions, and gentle pressure made for a changing pregnant body.

Do I need X-rays while pregnant?

Most pregnant patients are evaluated without new X-rays. We use your history, exam, and any prior images. If imaging is ever truly needed, we coordinate with the right medical provider.

When can I start care?

Women begin at many different points in pregnancy. Your care is always changed for your trimester, comfort, and maternity provider’s guidance.

Does this replace my OB or midwife?

No. Your maternity team manages your pregnancy. We focus on pain, movement, posture, and helping your body work more comfortably. Most importantly, we help keep your nervous system out of fight-or-flight stress mode, reducing neurological stress on your body and helping create a calmer, more balanced environment for your baby’s developing nervous system. The goal is to help your body spend less energy in protection mode and more time in the rest, growth, and recovery state pregnancy needs.
